It seemed like it just popped up in the middle of town—a quick stop off the main drag. An old man greeted us after we parked but before we made our way down. He was retired and volunteered at the park reserve to keep busy. He talked to us about Whangarei Falls, gave us tips on walking paths, and even told us to make sure we saw his favorite viewing spot.
